Just saw Iron Man with the wife tonight and all I can say is "WOW"!!!
Robert Downey Jr. was awesome as Tony Stark. One of the elements that I feel really defines a great superhero flick is how well the actor portrays the alter ego. Michael Keaton and Christian Bale made for a great Bruce Waynes, Toby McGuire did a great Peter Parker, and Downey Jr. nails Tony Stark. It's one of the few films where I looked forward to the Stark scenes as much, if not more, than the Iron Man scenes. The team that put this story together should be retained for the sequel because they created a great film.
One critic wrote that Iron Man will redefine a new era of superhero films as much as X-Men did 10 years ago. I agree wholeheartedly.
Also, make sure you stick around after the credits to see the much anticipated Nick Fury cameo.
